Colloquium 450 years Council of Trient
On the 4th of December 2013, we will commemorate the fact that 450 years ago, the Council of Trent (1545-1563) was solemnly brought to a close. This Council had an enormous impact on developments in religion, politics, art and culture, in Europe and beyond.
For this reason, the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), the Melanchthon-Akademie in Bretten (Germany), together with the foundation Refo500 (the Netherlands), have taken the initiative to organize an international colloquium in December 2013. This colloquium aims at placing the Council of Trent once again on the contemporary research agenda, through bringing together researchers from different disciplines and (confessional) backgrounds.
The colloquium will take place in Leuven (B) from December 4 till December 6, 2013.
