Last Tuesday in the German city of Wittenberg, a partnership agreement was signed between the LEUCOREA Foundation and Refo500. The LEUCOREA Foundation is a branch of the University of Halle-Wittenberg and has as its goal the promotion of research activities in the Leucorea, the building where Luther and Melanchthon worked as professors.

The mayor of Wittenberg, E. Naumann, who acted as the chairman of the meeting, stressed the importance of international collaboration in the program of commemorating the Reformation. Prof. Dr. E. J. Waschke, professor of Old Testament and chairman of the board of the LEUCOREA Foundation, expected that their participation in Refo500 would give a boost to their academic program and was also pleased that their foundation has now been included in an international network.
