During the 11th Asian Congress on Calvin Research that took place in Seoul (Korea) this week, Refo500 Asia got started.

The consultation with participants from Japan, Korea and Taiwan, made clear that churches, seminaries and universities have a lively interest in demonstrating the relevance of the Reformation through Refo500. Coordinator for Refo500 in Asia is Chongshin University, Seoul. Prof. dr. In-Sub Ahn was presented as Refo500 project manager for this part of the world. Some ideas for projects were launched, such a Korean version of the Calvin exhibition that was shown in 2009 in Geneva and Dordrecht, courses for teachers and students, a study trip to European Reformationcities and some bookprojects.

It is expected that institutions from other Asian countries will also join Refo500.
