Heidelb. Catechism

The year 2013 will see the 450th anniversary of the Heidelberg Catechism.

On January 19, 1563, Elector Frederick III Palatine wrote the preface to the Heidelberg Catechism. Later that month, in the German City of Heidelberg, it was published. After the Synod of Dort (1618/19) recognized it as a confessional standard, the book spread rapidly through Europe and the entire globe greatly affecting Reformed Protestantism, particularly in the Netherlands, America and Asia.

Various partners of Refo500 are paying special attention to this anniversary. Much planning is currently under way.

To read more on the program, go to the calendar. The program in the Netherlands and beyond can be found here.

Witte Travel offers a special Tour on the occasion of the anniversary of the Heidelberg Catechism, from 11-19 July 2013. Click on the illustration below to read more about the Tour.
